Krishan Kumar Dua was born in 1942 in Trinidad and Tobago to a Punjabi family. After earning a doctorate in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh, he moved to India and began his acting career in the 1990s.

Kumar's most notable acting role was in the 1995 film "Bewafa Sanam," where he played the lead character. He also produced several films, including "Aatish" (1994) and "Dhadkan" (2000).

Music Industry Success

However, it was through his music production company, T-Series, that Kumar gained widespread recognition. Founded in the 1980s, T-Series has become the largest music-producing company in India, releasing countless hit songs and films.

Under Kumar's leadership, T-Series has launched the careers of numerous singers and music directors, contributing significantly to the growth of the Indian music industry.

Personal Tragedy

In 2021, Kumar's daughter, Tishaa Kapoor, passed away due to cancer. Her funeral was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
