Indian archer Sarita Tamang has stormed into the quarter-finals of the World Cup Stage 3 in Paris, France. The 23-year-old archer defeated Toja Ellison of the United States 6-2 in the pre-quarterfinals.
Sarita started the match strongly, winning the first two sets 27-23 and 28-26. Ellison fought back in the third set, winning it 29-28, but Sarita regained her composure and won the fourth set 29-27 to take a 4-0 lead.
Ellison won the fifth set 27-25, but Sarita sealed the match in the sixth set, winning it 28-26 to progress to the quarter-finals.
