Center returns to Cleveland after brief stop in Seattle

Browns acquire Harris and 2026 7th-round pick for 2026 6th-round pick

The Cleveland Browns have traded for center Nick Harris, sending a 2026 6th-round pick to the Seattle Seahawks. Harris, 23, played for the Browns from 2019 to 2022 before being traded to the Seahawks in August 2023. He will now return to Cleveland, where he is expected to start at center.

Harris was a fifth-round pick by the Browns in 2019. He started 24 games for the Browns over the next three seasons, including all 17 games in 2022. He was traded to the Seahawks in August 2023 as part of the Browns' trade for quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Harris started 10 games for the Seahawks in 2023. He was released by the Seahawks on March 8, 2024, and the Browns quickly signed him to a one-year, $2.51 million deal.

The Browns are hoping that Harris can help stabilize their offensive line, which struggled in 2023. The Browns allowed 55 sacks in 2023, which was tied for the most in the NFL. Harris is a physical blocker who is also good at pass protection.

The Browns are scheduled to open the 2024 season on September 10 against the Carolina Panthers.
