18 Players and 4 Alternates Named

Emma Hayes Unveils Team for Paris Games

The United States Women's National Team (USWNT) has officially named its 18-player roster for the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Head coach Emma Hayes has selected a talented group of athletes who will compete for a record fifth Olympic gold medal.

The USWNT boasts an impressive 24W-4L-7D record in Olympic competition. They are also the reigning World Cup champions, having won the tournament in 2019. The team will face Germany in the semifinals of the 2024 Olympics.

In addition to the 18-player roster, four alternates have also been named. These players will travel with the team and be available to play in the event of an injury or suspension.

The full roster and alternates are as follows:

  • Goalkeepers: Alyssa Naeher (Chicago Red Stars), Casey Murphy (North Carolina Courage)
  • Defenders: Becky Sauerbrunn (OL Reign), Crystal Dunn (Portland Thorns), Tierna Davidson (Chicago Red Stars), Alana Cook (OL Reign)
  • Midfielders: Lindsey Horan (Olympique Lyonnais), Rose Lavelle (OL Reign), Sam Mewis (Kansas City Current)
  • Forwards: Alex Morgan (San Diego Wave FC), Megan Rapinoe (OL Reign), Trinity Rodman (Washington Spirit)

The USWNT will begin their Olympic campaign on July 24, 2024, against Germany. They will then face Canada on July 27 and Australia on July 30.
